Well, I have just got back from a 5 week tour of Europe with Loreena McKennitt and the band and wow, what a time we had!
The tour was amazing and all the gigs were in beautiful venues ranging from concert halls to arena’s. The fans in Europe really support Loreena and made the whole trip a very memorable experience for us all.
Playing the Royal Albert Hall in London was a definite career highlight for me and one gig that I’ll never forget!!
BIG thank you to all the drum companies that I endorse for their complete back up whilst I was out on tour, and I look forward to playing all the same products on the next leg of the ‘Lost Souls’ world tour which starts in June.

I am very excited for the release of the new Gary Bamford Trio CD, it was recorded last year and is ready for release on December the 18th 2017.

The album was recorded at J&J Studio in Bristol with the ever amazing Jim Barr at the helm. Gary is a good friend and an amazing writer and keyboard player, we have been friends for many years and this new CD is definitely the best thing we have ever recorded together. The trio became complete when the brilliant Al Swainger joined us playing bass about a year and a half ago, and what a superb bass player he is. Together we recorded this album over 3 days and then returned to master it a few months later, it has taken quite awhile to get the finished product out there but we are proud to say its ready for the world to hear!
I am particularly proud of my playing on this album, I feel the material has allowed me to play the style and vibe that is really ME, if that makes sense. If you fancy hearing that, then please go to the website and check it out.
Here are a few pics from the recordings, I changed many snares, cymbals and effects and so on to get the perfect drum sound and vibe for each track. Getting inside the music like that brings your performance alive and gives the music the respect it deserves.
Rob was a guest on the Bosphorus cymbal stand at the amazing London Drum Show on Sunday the 9th of November.
He was on the stand to talk to people about the new ranges from Bosphorus and he played a 20 minute drum solo moving through many styles and techniques. The cymbals sounded fantastic and there will be some very exciting news coming next year concerning Rob and his cymbal endorsement!
